The Eddleman Quantum Institute (EQI) Opens Quantum Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (QUROP) for Summer 2025
The Eddleman Quantum Institute (EQI) is now accepting applications for the Quantum Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (QUROP) for the summer of 2025. This initiative aims to support undergraduate students conducting research in the rapidly evolving field of quantum science.
QUROP is part of UCI’s commitment to advancing quantum research, with at least 26 faculty members currently working in this exciting area. The program is closely affiliated with the Eddleman Quantum Institute (EQI), which serves as a hub for quantum science research at UCI.

- Program Duration: Typically 10 weeks
- Time Commitment: 20 hours per week (flexible based on project needs)
- Award Amount: Expected to be $3,000 per fellowship
The program targets students with prior research experience who are eager to engage in intensive, faculty-mentored research projects in quantum science over the summer.

Eligibility Criteria:
- Must be enrolled at UCI as a degree-seeking undergraduate student through at least fall quarter 2025
- Must have guidance from a UCI Academic Senate Faculty Mentor
- Must maintain good academic standing (2.0+ GPA)
- Should have some prior research experience, preferably at least one quarter working on a research project at UCI
- Must submit an individual application with unique, independent aims if part of a group project
- Limited to one individual funding request per student for this summer
